Working bringing my boy is possible
recently ppl been asking me how I started my business with my kid always with me...
In the beginning of my Mary Kay career, my eldest son, Ebenezer, was 1.5 years old. That time I was already a part time piano teacher. Meaning I’m adding on another part time, Mary Kay.
This is how I arranged my time, all weekday mornings I’ll be with him, will only send him to caretaker half day during the afternoons. I was part time teaching piano, 2-5pm every Wednesday, Friday and full day teaching on Saturday 9-5. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday night time were church time. Weekdays after making baby sleep and settle house matters, normally 12am-2am or 3am will be my study time, woke up 9am. Sunday is a family day. So only the remainder time is available for Mary Kay bookings. Night time bringing Ebenezer together either to unit meeting or conducts skincare classes.. for class,I’ll do skin pre-profiling so I know what selected products and tools to bring to classes .
Monday: 8pm Unit meeting with Eben
Tuesday: 2pm-6pm - MK
Thursday: 2pm-6pm- MK, 8pm: MK with Eben
Saturday: 8pm: MK with Eben

basically Ebenezer is with me wherever I go, bringing baby car seat cum baby cot, extra clothes, baby bottle formula for 3 feedings and thermo flask, books and little toys, ready in the car.
I’ll always talk to him before bringing him to small group classes and on the go meet up people. I’ll let him choose to bring one or two of his favourite toys or books to small group classes or on the go. He will play beside me, when he wants milk I’ll make him his milk and when he’s tired will nap in his baby cot, sometimes he does cranky and have to carry him… and complete the class…
Invest in good multipurpose car sit cum baby cot. As Ebenezer grew bigger in size I invest in a comfortable stroller for travel and nap.
I remember when there’s product training in office during weekend, where kids cannot enter the training room, I just sit outside with him, hearing the training outside, during Q&A time I went in and raise my hand to ask questions…
I believe every kid would like to be with mummy. I believe kid will grow up happy and healthy spending time with mummy. The thing is we have to find the balance between our career and family.
Plan early. Expect the unexpected and be creative, and trust your baby. Trust your baby, they are not trouble makers. God does not create trouble makers. They are rewards from God. They are little humans, depending on you to model them, help them grow up to be great men and women.

Is your emotions controlled by your character or your situation?
I read a story yesterday about a man - - (I know a man who struggled in his marriage for years. He and his wife did not see eye to eye on many issues, and she would not come to church with him. For the longest time this left him feeling down and discouraged, then I saw him awhile back and asked how everything was going. He seemed to be very upbeat. He said, “Everything is great. I’m really enjoying my life.” I thought for sure that he and his wife were getting along better and they had resolved all those issues. But he said,” No, my wife is just the same. We still don’t see eye-to-eye. She still won’t come to church with me.” Then he said something very interesting. “She hasn’t changed, but I’ve changed. I don’t let our differences upset me anymore. I don’t let them steal my joy.”)

My reflection from the story –
Identify what upset you, and then make a decision to change your approach in that area. After all being upset will not make the situation any better. Only prayer will.

A small pot boils the quickest. You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to get him upset. Be a bigger pot, a.k.a a bigger person.
.
I tell myself I will not let them pull me down. My God is bigger than this. I want to happily seeing my two boys grow up. I have places to go, goals to accomplish, many dreams to realize... I classified them into categories; some of them not even consider a situation at all after much thinking. And throughout the years I have been groom to be bigger, able to cut shorter and shorter the upset time and let not situations, pressure overwhelm me… the fact is think, properly, logically, if I let them overwhelm me, that would have withdraw me from my God-given-destiny, and I choose, I refuse, to allow how I feel to quit doing what God has called me to.
